The station switched from Radio Xplosion 93.3 FM to 96.5 FM broadcast frequency at CONATEL's request, for causes outside the control of its personnel. The day of the formal inauguration was February 14, 2008. On the Gonaïves parade field, a number of events were held to commemorate the occasion, including disc jockeys performing live, fireworks being released, and contributions of posters, jerseys, and hats bearing the station's emblem. With a 1,000 watt digital transmitter, Xplosion is the most potent and widely listened-to radio station in the Artibonite department, covering the Northwest, Northeast, and North. Radio Xplosion has quickly become the Far North's go-to source thanks to its state-of-the-art electronic equipment, knowledgeable and professional staff, unmatched sound system, well-balanced programming schedule that includes something for every taste, age group, and—most importantly—the full development of a thirsty youth atmosphere.
